— Conference attendee support

Fewer repeat questions. Better answers for every attendee.

On event day, the same questions reach your team over and over. Backchannel turns your FAQs, agenda and venue information into an assistant that answers them on WhatsApp, and passes the tricky ones to your team.

— The problem

Why attendee questions pile up

The information usually exists already. It's just spread across a joining email, a PDF agenda, a website FAQ page and a few organisers' heads. Attendees don't hunt for it. They ask the nearest person, email the info address or queue at registration.

That pulls your team away from running the event, and it means attendees who don't want to ask simply go without.

— How Backchannel helps

One place for answers, one place to see what people ask

An FAQ chatbot that uses your words

Write FAQs and event info sections in the dashboard: wifi, cloakroom, accessibility, food, travel. The assistant answers from them in a friendly, conversational way.

Answers that stay up to date

The assistant also reads your live agenda and speaker list, so a room change or a new session is reflected in its answers.

An inbox of unanswered questions

When the assistant can't answer, the question is logged for your team. You can reply and turn the answer into an FAQ for next time.

A human when it matters

On plans with the live on-call team, unanswered questions go by WhatsApp to whoever is on call, and their reply reaches the attendee.

— Scenarios

What this looks like on the day

Before doors open. An attendee asks what time registration opens and where to park. The assistant answers from your event info, so your team isn't fielding the same email fifty times.

Between sessions. Someone asks which room the next AI talk is in. The assistant checks the live agenda and points them there, and can suggest related sessions by topic.

Something new comes up. An attendee asks whether there's a prayer room. If that isn't in your content yet, the question lands with your team. Once someone answers, it can be saved as an FAQ, so the next person gets an instant answer.

Attendees start these conversations themselves by messaging your event on WhatsApp. Share the number on badges, slides and QR table cards, which Backchannel generates for you to print. There's also a simple guide for attendees.

— FAQ

Questions about attendee support

What happens if the assistant gets a question it can't answer?

It tells the attendee it doesn't have that answer rather than guessing, and the question goes into your unanswered-question inbox. On plans with the live on-call team, it's also sent to your on-call team member on WhatsApp.

Do we have to write lots of new content?

Usually not. Most teams start with the agenda, speaker list and the FAQs they already send attendees, then add answers as real questions come in.
